1. How much rebate can I get right now?
As at October 2026, the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program provides a discount based on usable battery size: the highest rate applies to the first 14 kWh of eligible capacity, with lower rates applying to additional eligible capacity bands. For a 13.5 kWh battery, the estimated federal discount is around $3,400 based on an assumed STC value of approximately $37. The value of STCs can change over time, and your quote will show the exact discount available to your installation.
2. Am I eligible for the Rebate?
You may be eligible if the battery is on the CEC approved list (5–100 kWh), it's installed with new or existing rooftop solar, and an SAA-accredited installer installs it. We check this for you before quoting.
3. Is the government battery rebate still available?
Yes. The federal battery discount is still available and runs to 2030, but it reduces every six months. Since 1 May 2026, larger batteries get a reduced rate above 14 kWh, and nothing above 50 kWh. The next reduction is on 1 January 2027.
4. Can I add a battery to existing solar?
Yes. Most homes can add a battery if the current inverter and switchboard can work with it. We check this during the site assessment.
